The custom-fitted partial provided to you by the dental professionals at New London Complete Health Dentistry has been designed to restore multiple missing teeth in one part of your mouth. This effectively restores the function and appearance of those teeth. Including it and your remaining natural teeth in your oral hygiene routine will help insure that it will serve you for many years to come.

While your partial is designed to fit securely in the void, many people with a partial like to use denture adhesive to help secure the partial in place and block out food particles. If a few food particles work their way between the base of your partial and gums, you will need to rinse them and any residual adhesive away. You can then reapply more denture adhesive to the clean surface.

You should thoroughly rinse your partial when you take it out at night to remove all residual denture adhesive. This will give you a clean, smooth surface to reapply the denture adhesive the next day. Then you should brush your partial with a soft bristled toothbrush and denture polish or nonabrasive toothpaste. You should soak your partial overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

With the partial safely put away, you should brush and floss your teeth as you would in your regular oral hygiene routine. Make sure to floss around the gum line of the teeth neighboring the partial.

If you have questions about how to take care of your new partial, you should call New London Complete Health Dentistry at 419-929-1544 to schedule an appointment.
